Sometimes I see myself, Sometimes I see nothing at all, Sometimes I see the hero, Sometimes I see the fall, Sometimes I see my father’s son and all the great things that he’s done, Sometimes I see my mother’s child and all the battles he’s won, Sometimes I see my sister’s protector, Making sure no man disrespects her, Sometimes I see my brother’s keeper, With loyalty, no relationship deeper, Sometimes I see my future, Sometimes I see my past, Sometimes I see all the moments I knew would never last, Sometimes some moments do, Especially those with you, Sometimes I see us back together, Sometimes it just ain’t you, Sometimes I stare deep into my eyes, Asking questions, wondering why, Sometimes I’m just high, Sometimes I just cry, Sometimes I could use somebody, Sometimes I’m better off alone, Sometimes I’m the life of the party, Sometimes I just need to be home, Sometimes I just need silence, But I always need my music, Writing opens a window to my soul, Sometimes I wish I could do it, But as I peruse the image in front of me, It’s clear there’s more than the eye can see, So for those of you that think you’ve heard of me, Take a good look, Do you see what I see?
