Lovelessness: a plague of modern madness

I think I was still coming to terms with my love life, or lack there of. There’d been people that I’d loved that didn’t love me back. There’d been people that I hadn’t loved that had loved me wholeheartedly. And the cycle went on and on and no-one bat an eyelash. No-one cared because we lived in a time where it wasn’t cool to care. It wasn’t mainstream to have an individualistic brain stream that didn’t come from one of their stations, channels or platforms. They were all too busy keeping themselves perpetually distracted by LCD screens filled with propaganda. If topics got too serious or too real, society shunned it like a new disease.

Still, I hoped there was a cure somewhere on the horizon for this endless lovelessness that plagued us millennials. But we were only following the example laid before us, and I knew that. And I hated that. We were all just 1’s & 0’s in a binary code of years of faulty programming. We were just vicarious victims of our hardened & hardwired history.
